Why I Built This
As someone who frequently works with multiple devices connected to my PC, I often found myself navigating through Windows Device Manager just to check COM port assignments. This repetitive task highlighted the need for a simpler solution.
While some serial monitor applications include port listing features, I wanted a lightweight, standalone tool that does one thing and does it well - showing available COM ports instantly. SerialSpotter was born from this need, designed to be minimal, fast, and always ready when you need it.

Download Instructions
I utilized PyInstaller and Inno Setup to generate an installer. During testing, I noticed that some antivirus software incorrectly identified it as a trojan; however, this is a false positive.
- Click on the download button; it is in zip format.
- After downloading, use a compression tool such as 7-Zip or WinRAR to extract the file.
- You will be prompted to enter a password; please use the password shown below.
- Enter the password to unlock the zip file and proceed with the installation.
